Price

Last weekend we packed up the van and headed off to Price.  Not too exciting you say?? Well, we went to help my Grannie R celebrate her 90th birthday.
We stayed over night and made a little family trip out of it.  It was fun to see my Dad's family.

We had fun swimming and hanging out together ;)

After the party we went and hung out with Grandma. She shared some great stories.  This is the house my Dad grew up in and Grandma said they bought it with a cow!

Thanks Grandma for the love you show us....Happy Birthday!

Inspired by Orson Gygi

On our trip to Salt Lake to visit yet another several tile stores ;) I took the kids to Orson Gygi.  I heart this store....I cannot explain the happiness it brings me and their awws and wonder did not disappoint as they appreciated the culinary excitement as much as their Mom :)
As we paroosed the many wonderful items, we came across the sucker making section.  In my young pre school teaching days I used to make suckers all the time.  So we grabbed some sticks and dusted off my molds and flavoring and had a blast creating some yummy lolipops!

We had fun mixing flavors and colors.  Our outrageous orange was a hit - we added a little citric acid to make it have a sour kick - so fun :) Other favorites were lemon lime, rasperry cheese cake, marshmallow and of course...cinnamon!

Provo cont....

We took our handy little passports and stopped by the Provo temple on they way home.
It is so beautiful set so close to the mountains! It was a toasty day and the clouds were beautiful. Thanks K for letting us drag you along ;)

Provo

We went down to Provo to pick up Kenna and her friend from basket ball camp at BYU. It was fun to walk around campus and see where they had been for the past four days :)

It was also fun to see the dorms....and I couldn't reisist snapping this picture as my dear hubby barreled thru right past it - LOL - Matt opted to wait outside ;)

They had so many fun stories to tell us - but one thing I do believe is they worked their little tails off during all that fun!!!  Glad to have you home girls - we missed you!!!

Passport

Several years back, the kids and I planned a little venture to visit all the temples we could in Utah.  It was a good year to do so because we had a family vacation in St George and we went to the Manti pagent that year.  But, as plans go sometimes, we didn't make it to all we had hoped and summer was gone.  I had thoughts of doing the same thing this year....budget friendly activity for the summer ;) and so when I saw these passports in the Seagul Book add...I knew I had to go statch a few!
They are full of neat info on each temple and you get to put a "stamp" (sticker) in after you visit each temple.

We decided to start in Ogden so we headed to the Ogden temple for family night last week.  The grounds are beautiful and it was fun just walking around and talking.

And how can you visit the Ogden temple and not stop at Farr's icecream? I grew up in Ogden and I have many fond memories of the temple and Farr's icecream.  My sister's and I each had our favorite flavor we would get when we were little.

Next, we are hoping to see the Provo and Timpanoga's temple when we pick up Kenna and her friend from basketball camp at BYU.  Happy summer everyone!

July 4th

Our morning started with the city parade.  Kenna was in it this year with the jr high PTSA.

We love to go when we know Uncle Zak (white shirt) will be there also on the Veterans float!

As tradition :) we headed to Grandma and Grandpa B's for lunch.  We had a small crowd this year with my sister's working but it was nice to get together.

I am very thankful for the wonderful country we live in and all the freedom's we enjoy. (And thanks everyone for being good sports and wearing the cute USA hat's I found ;)
